Homage: hom·age ((h)ämij) – noun – special honor or respect shown publicly.
I used the giant rooster statue as the featured image, because everyone likes to pay homage to a big cock right?
Could you have picked something a little less political at this tumultuous time in the U.S.?
Many would see paying homage to a historical figure as a reason to build a statue or erect a memorial of some type for that person or event…
At this time there are many monuments being torn down, which were originally created to pay homage to someone or something. Does it bother me? Not really. I feel the monuments idolizing those who were supportive of slavery and for the senseless fighting in hopes of continuing the disgraceful act of placing one’s self worth above others. It’s called human decency, and clearly there’s a severe lack of it in the world.
What ever happened to “treating others as you wish to be treated”? Why was it okay to place the figures of the Confederacy in front of public buildings to begin with?
“It’s our history.” No shit, Sherlock. Put it in a museum. So if people want to see it, they can. But don’t shove that shit down my throat. Take your racism and shove it up your ass. I acknowledge you as a human being, but I also hope the racist fucktwats and murderers of the world are on the receiving end of a pitchfork up the ass.
“Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results.” – Albert Einstein
Acknowledge history, learn from it, don’t fucking repeat it.
Pay homage to those who have fought and died for your right to be a fucktwat, because otherwise the government would shut you up without recourse.
Not exactly a happy, touchy, feely post.. definitely not about dogs or a book review.. but it’s something that needed to be said.
Have some coffee and add a splash of whiskey to make it through the daily shit. ❤ Casey
